Faster Labeling Decisions with AI-Powered Regulatory Analysis

Challenge

Understanding and applying USDA and FDA regulations can be time-consuming and complex. Professionals often need to search through multiple documents to find relevant information, which slows down decision-making and increases the risk of oversight.

Solution

I developed a Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) agent designed to analyze these regulations instantly. Users simply ask a question, and the tool provides a reliable answer based solely on official documents stored in a Supabase vector database. Powered by ChatGPT and orchestrated via N8N, the agent was fine-tuned to prevent misinformation by:

• Optimizing prompts to ensure only official sources were used

• Selecting the best AI model for accuracy and consistency

• Running multiple evaluations to refine the relevance of responses

Result

While not a replacement for expert review, this assistant helps professionals save time by offering a starting point for regulatory research. By providing quick access to key excerpts from official documents, it supports more efficient decision-making and reduces the effort needed to navigate complex regulations.
